Our aluminium powders are made from the finest aluminium sheets with a particle thickness of less than one micrometre and a diameter between 1 μm and 100 μm. In addition to their use as a decorative design element, aluminium pigments also serve a functional purpose.
Applications
Characterised by the grain distribution, surface quality and the responsiveness, our aluminium powders are used in a variety of industries – including the construction materials industry, graphic finishing, as well as in pyrotechnics. Products of GRIMM Metallpulver GmbH are used in particular for the manufacture of dry mortars and aerated concrete, within the framework of pigmentation of paints, inks and lacquers or plastics, as well as in the refinement of pyrotechnic products.
Aluminium powders for the construction materials industry
GRIMM Metallpulver GmbH manufactures a range of functional construction material additives. In aerated concrete aluminium serves as an expansion tool. The raw material mixture contains tiny, evenly distributed aluminium particles, which cause the formation of hydrogen gas in the form of numerous small bubbles in the mixture, turning it into a highly porous foam. For the different raw density classes of aerated concrete products modified aluminium powders are used, which are mainly distinguished by their grain size distributions. In dry mortars our aluminium powders prevent the formation of cracks. We achieve this by targeted expansion in the structure as well as reduced shrinkage deformation.
